SMS consent

How clients agree to receive texts

Businesses that use Servicr text only the clients who said yes. This page shows the consent step a client sees when they give their mobile number, and every message they can expect after.

Last updated: September 27, 2026

What the consent step always does

  1. 01

It is optional: a separate checkbox that is never pre-checked. Booking, approving a quote or paying works the same whether it is checked or not.

  2. 02

It stands on its own. Accepting terms of service or a privacy policy never signs anyone up for texts.

  3. 03

It names the business that will text, says what the texts are for, that message frequency varies, and that message and data rates may apply.

  4. 04

It explains how to get help (reply HELP) and how to stop (reply STOP), and links to the Messaging Policy and Privacy Policy.

  5. 05

Marketing texts need their own, separate consent. Appointment and invoice texts never turn into promotions.

Every way a client can opt in

  • Online booking

The booking form shown on this page. The checkbox sits right below the mobile number field.

  • Quote or work order

When a client approves a quote or work order online, the same optional checkbox and wording appear before they approve.

  • Client portal

Clients can turn text notifications on or off in their portal profile. Turning them on shows the same wording.

  • Texting the business

A client who texts the business first receives the confirmation message shown here, with HELP and STOP instructions, before anything else.
